About requesting
The requesting service operates Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
- All Te Toka Tumai Auckland staff may request articles, chapters or books.
- Requests are sourced from external libraries via Interlibrary Loans when not available from University of Auckland libraries.
- Charges are to Te Toka Tumai Auckland, the organisation not to individuals or departments; see also Costs and delivery times.
Requesting articles
- Before placing a request, check whether the article you want is available in the Te Toka Tumai Auckland E-Resources catalogue or the Te Toka Tumai Auckland E-journals.
- You may request up to 10 articles per week.
- For copyright purposes, enter one article per request form; place multiple requests consecutively.
- Articles will be emailed.
Requesting books and chapters
Current library Associate Membership is required to request books.
- Before placing a request, check whether the book you want is available as an e-book in the Te Toka Tumai Auckland E-Resources catalogue, or use the University of Auckland Catalogue to find print books held in University of Auckland libraries, including the Philson Library.
- You may request books that are on loan. Books not held can be sourced externally via Interlibrary Loans. See how to request a print a book.
- Books may be picked up from the Philson Library or delivered to Greenlane and community sites via the internal mail.
- Books from external libraries can be renewed by emailing us (please include your Interloan number).
- E-books in the University of Auckland Catalogue are only available from a Library computer or you may request a copy of a chapter. Copies of book chapters will be emailed.
